Festival Volunteer Guidelines

Volunteering for Festival International de Louisiane can be an enjoyable experience. We depend on you as a part of our team to make this event a success. Please take the time to read the following guidelines. We hope the information provides you with the details you need to be a part of our team and to be an effective Festival International Volunteer.

1. All volunteers must register and check-in at the Media & Volunteer Center (location to be

determined at a later date) prior to reporting to their assigned areas. If you have not filled

out a Volunteer Application, you will need to do so before your assignment.

If you do not have an assignment you will be given one on a first-come, first-serve basis according to what is available. Experience and special skills/talents will be taken into consideration.

Conduct and Expectations:

Festival volunteers:

1. Must be at least 16 years of age or older.

2. Must maintain poise and professionalism at all times. You are representing the Festival and
many visitors are relying on your assistance.

3. Arrive in comfortable shoes and attire to go along with your Official Festival Volunteer t-shirt.

4. Must not consume alcoholic beverages during their assignments. When you complete your
assignment, please remove your Festival t-shirt so that you may enjoy the Festival as a member
of the public. Remember: your t-shirt identifies you as a Festival team member during Festival
events.

5. Refer issues needing special attention to Festival staff or the Police; please do not try to intervene
in any conflicts if you are not a part of the Security team. We have trained and prepared
staff and team members for these situations.

6. Should inform a staff member if your assignment is not working out. We will try to reassign you
to an assignment you are better suited for, taking into account your skills and interests according
to available volunteer opportunities.

7. Those working with Talents or Entertainers are not to solicit autographs or offer information
about personal endeavors.

8. ENJOY YOURSELF!! We all know festivals are fun, and even better when you’re a part of
making it happen. This event lasts for 5 days, so please be patient and understand when
dealing with people under pressure.

Effectively staging an international event of this magnitude requires the coordinated efforts of thousands of dedicated Volunteers. Volunteers provide essential services that ensure the successful and safe production of this internationally acclaimed event.

Festival International de Louisiane salutes the strong community spirit, generous hearts and abiding patience of the Festival Volunteers. Without you, this event could not take place.

Merci beaucoup!
